Best French Pharmacy Products a French Girl Swear by

Since I’ve moved to London, I miss so much going every weekend to the French pharmacy! When I was living in Paris this was like my ritual to go at least once a week at the French pharmacy just to see what’s new and pick few products for face and body. I have always been very obsessed with French Pharmacy skincare products. French pharmacy is for me the ultimate health and beauty destination where you can find a full range of affordable and effective beauty products. I love the fact that most of the French pharmacy skincare products have a minimalist and hypo-allergenic formula and that you’ll always find the right product whatever your skin concern is: anti-aging, hydration, oiliness, radiance, or UV protection.

My skin type is combination, sensitive and dehydrated at the same time. I’m always seeking for very gentle skincare products that hydrate my skin without blocking my pores and causing breakouts. In order to inject a bit of French fabulousness into your skincare routine, I’ve saved you some time and I compiled a list of French beauty products must-haves based on products I’ve tried and that are working really well for my skin type. Most of the skincare products that I’ve listed are quite affordable and good news, they are all coming from Boots 🙂

1. The best face cleansers

Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser, 10.50£

Perfect for everyday cleansing, the Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser is super gentle with even the most sensitive skin, it cleanses and removes make-up from the face and the eyes efficiently, and soothes irritated skins. This cleanser is specifically designed for very sensitive skin (fair, thin, prone to redness), or skin which has become sensitized due to climatic conditions, excessive cleansing, drying cosmetic or dermatological treatments. This fluid, oil-free refreshing cleanser leaves the skin perfectly clean and comfortable without drying it. At evening, I apply it with my fingertips to my face and eyelids in a light circular motion, then I just rinse it with tap water.

Avene Thermal Water Spray 150ml, 8.5£

To complete cleansing, I like to use the Avene Thermal Water Spray to soothe my skin.  I just spray onto my skin a fine mist, then I gently pat dry. Avene Thermal Water Spray is an essential soothing care for sensitive, hypersensitive, allergic and irritated skin. I always have one bottle of Avene Thermal Water at home and I like to use it when I feel my skin dry, dehydrated or sensitive. It can be used for sunburn, nappy rash, various form of skin irritations or after hair removal.

2. The best face exfoliators

Caudalie Glycolic Peel Mask, 22£

Since I’ve discovered the Caudalie Peel Mask, I can’t live without it. For me, Caudalie Glycolic Peel Mask is the best exfoliator that I’ve ever used. If you’re looking for a well-formulated, acid-based exfoliator, that gently support the natural process of exfoliation, go for the Caudalie Glycolic Peel Mask. This mask is an instant boost radiance formulated for anyone suffering from a dull complexion. It helps to remove dead skin cells from the surface layer of the skin, improves the skin’s texture and tone and helps stimulate the production of new cells and collagen for a youthful glow. Formulated with 85.7% natural origin ingredients. I usually use it twice a week for a better result.

Avene Gentle Exfoliating Gel, 12£

In the case I’m not using a glycolic peel to exfoliate my skin, I like to use a manual exfoliator like the Avene Gentle Exfoliating Gel. Specially formulated with cellulose beads, jojoba wax beads, and Avene Thermal Spring Water, this gentle exfoliator removes dead skin cells and impurities from the surface layer of the skin without aggravating or drying out skin.

Clarins Gentle Refiner Exfoliating Cream with Microbeads, 26£

A rich cream formulated with two different types of microbeads – one exfoliates, the other purifies. I really like this exfoliator from Clarins as it lifts impurities and dead skin cells and tightens pores as well. This creamy exfoliator enriched with Mimosa Tenuiflora extract has been specially designed for sensitive skin types. It’s the perfect exfoliator for softer, smoother, deeply cleansed skin. Use it once or twice a week to a cleansed face, gently massage using light circular movements and rinse with warm water.
