I’m taking a break next week (so no newsletter then, but don’t worry—I’ll be back in the fall with even more exciting content!). Before I go, I wanted to leave you with some super chic fashion trends I’ve spotted for the fall/winter season. This post is perfect for getting a little fashion inspiration for the upcoming season or just to get a sneak peek at what we’ll be wearing this fall.
So, what’s in store for us this autumn? Well, jeans are getting longer and wider, with mid-waist rises making a comeback—perfect for creating a more flattering silhouette. Rouge H and burgundy are going to be everywhere, whether on loafers, handbags, leather belts, dresses, blazers, or cashmere wool blend coats. It’s the color of the season.
There’s also a fun boho-chic and ’70s vibe sweeping through fall fashion. Think capes, ruffles, sheer fabrics, chunky charm necklaces, over-the-knee boots, wide belts, and oversized ’70s-style sunglasses. Trench coats are also getting a trendy update with cape details, as seen in Chloé’s latest collection. And get ready to see ballet flats all over the place, in all sorts of colors and materials—tweed, for example, is making a splash.
Leather is having a major moment, too, showing up in pants and jackets. I’m loving the lady-like cropped jackets in black or burgundy leather (thanks, Hermès, for this trend!). And leather bags? They’re getting slouchier and less structured this season.
So, as you can see, this season is all about soft hues, gentler curves, and a move away from those stiff, rigid structures. I hope this gives you some inspiration for your fall wardrobe! Keep scrolling to dive into the seven super chic fall-winter fashion trends I’ve handpicked just for you ;).

1. (Mid-Waist) Wide-Leg Denim
I can’t get enough of this denim style—it’s all I’m wearing these days! It’s perfect for elongating and slimming your silhouette while giving you a fresh, modern look. I recently grabbed a few pairs from Massimo Dutti, and my favorite is definitely these mid-rise wide-leg full-length jeans. I also picked up some faded straight-leg high-waist jeans, which are great with ankle boots and loafers for fall. Plus, I’ve got my eye on these full-length wide-leg high-waist jeans for my next purchase. If you love the boho-chic vibe from Chloé Pre-Fall 2024, you’ll definitely want to check out these faded high-waist wide-leg jeans.
2. A Touch of Rouge H or Burgundy
I’m totally in love with these shades! They’re just perfect for the fall/winter season! Rouge H is a muted, earthy red with brown undertones, exclusive to Hermès, while burgundy is a more vibrant, deep red with purple undertones. This season, why not brighten up your wardrobe with a pop of color? Think of a stylish bag, some chic shoes (like these Sézane Albane loafers), a sleek leather belt (I’m obsessed with this new one from Sandro), or even a cropped leather jacket. Or, for a touch of French chic, try the Rouge Hermès Matte Lipstick in Rouge H ;).
3. Ruffled Blouses
I’m sure that ruffled blouses will be everywhere this fall! I’m loving this trend for the season. Inspired by Chloé’s layered silk-georgette shirt and cutout ruffled silk-crepon turtleneck blouse, you can already find similar styles at Mango, like this ruffled chiffon blouse, this chiffon crop blouse with ruffles, or this fluid blouse with neck tie. Pair these with wide-leg jeans and a cropped leather jacket for a chic look.
4. Trench with Cape Details
This season, trench coats are getting a trendy makeover with cape details. I love this modern touch; it gives the classic trench a fresh, stylish silhouette. Pair it with equestrian-style knee-high boots for a très chic look. If you’re into this vibe, you can check out Chloé’s cotton-gabardine trench coat here. Or, I found this really cute cotton trench with a scarf at Massimo Dutti!
5. Ballet Flats
Ballet flats are all the rage this season, whether they’re mesh, embellished with rhinestones or studs, in patent leather or tweed, or with rounded or pointed toes! I love pairing them with mid-rise wide-leg denim to give them a bit of an edge. This fall, I’m really into the Chloé Eia studded ruched leather flats and the classic Marcie leather ballet flats. The tweed ballet flats by Gianvito Rossi are another favorite of mine!
6. Ladylike Cropped Leather Jacket
I’m totally into this trend! Last spring, I picked up a similar style from the Parisian brand BA&SH, and I can’t wait to wear it this fall. It’s not your typical leather jacket—it’s usually cropped, well-structured, and has a ladylike touch with golden buttons. Think of the Nili Lotan Kitra leather jacket or the Cara jacket by Anine Bing. It looks super chic over a light blue poplin shirt, a cream lavaliere blouse, a ruffled blouse, or even just a classic t-shirt. The leather adds a cool edge that keeps the jacket from feeling too prim. Très chic!
7. Slouchy Bags
We’re moving away from those super-structured handbags of the last few seasons and embracing styles that are still elegant but much more relaxed. Handbags are getting oversized, with softer curves and a slouchy vibe—totally in line with the boho trend. A few bags I’m loving right now are Demellier’s New York tote (which comes in suede this season), Polène’s Mokki, Le Tanneur’s Emie handbag, and Léo et Violette Le Marcia bag.

Thank you so much for this Article. One thing I always have a problem with is that as a mature woman I tend to always match shoe colour with bag colour. I need some help with what colours you can put together bag and shoes – could you give me some help please !!! . Thank you.
Thank you so much for your comment, Denise! When in doubt, a black leather bag is always a great match with any shoe color—like white, camel, burgundy, black, and so on. Personally, I like to match my bag with my jacket or the overall colors in my outfit. Here are some color combinations that work beautifully together: blue and camel, burgundy and camel, gray and burgundy, black and white, and beige and camel. I hope this helps you out! xo
