Summer is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect time to update your wardrobe with a fresh French capsule collection ;). This season, I’m inspired by the vibrant “J.Crew in Saint-Tropez” line and the retro-modern flair of Chloé’s pre-fall 2024 collection. In this summer capsule, expect a mix of nautical chic and retro flair with items like a striped light blue blazer, a 70s cream wide-leg denim, and a vintage rib polo T-shirt, complemented by plenty of linen pieces that are just perfect for the season.
Even on the hottest days of summer, I maintain a chic and smart style, particularly for city wear. This is why you won’t find dresses or skirts in this capsule collection; I reserve those for vacations or beach outings. This season, my palette leans towards serene neutrals—which remind me of my summer vacations in Greece—like beige, white, camel, and light blue, combining classic silhouettes with trendy pieces like mesh ballet flats and a stylish leather and rattan basket.
So, if you’re considering a complete summer wardrobe overhaul or simply wish to add a few key items, here are about ten essential pieces to consider, along with five versatile outfit ideas that you can easily adapt using these selections. Bon shopping!

Bonjour! I’m Léonce, the founder of Léonce Chenal, a blog dedicated to French fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. I’m French, and I'm originally from a small town near Annecy. I launched Léonce Chenal in 2018 while working as a data analyst in London to share my love of effortless French style. After living in Paris, London, and Amsterdam, I’ve now settled in the beautiful city of Bordeaux. When I’m not writing, you’ll find me baking pâtisseries, exploring hidden museums, or searching for the perfect perfume. I hope this space brings a touch of beauté to your everyday life!
I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe! This is so helpful. Thanks!!
Nice items. But it would be great to see them on . Or even just the photos together to better visualize.
Hello!
Why you will not wear dresses in summer in the city of Paris? These pieces are nice and classic and kind of boring, but more importantly, white, long pants, jackets….in a city that has less air conditioning than most and gets very hot & grimy?
Thanks!
Thank you for asking, Kit! It’s really more of a personal preference. I love classic styles because they might seem simple, but they are incredibly comfortable and can look chic on any occasion without looking overdone. When it’s really hot, I usually opt for slightly oversized linen shirts paired with wide-leg linen pants, which I find well-suited for navigating Paris’s warm and less air-conditioned environments. But of course, you should wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable and confident. Feel free to express your style in the way that suits you best 🙂 xo
Once again you have came up with the perfect Parisian outfits , look forward to seeing your wardrobe capsule each week.
Thank you
Janette.
Thank you so much, Janette! Merci for your kind words <3
