Last week, I took the time to sift through the full range of photos from the Spring/Summer 2025 runway shows by the fashion houses I hold closest to my heart. I was on the hunt for emerging trends, fresh silhouettes, and the next aesthetic wave. After reviewing thousands of images, I must admit I’m thrilled to witness how fashion continues to evolve!
One aesthetic, in particular, stood out to me, and I absolutely adore it. The key theme? Softness. Softness in curves, fabrics, volumes, and colors. This new fashion feels joyful—or, at the very least, brings immense joy just to behold. With playful transparencies and ultra-feminine details like ruffles, bows, floral prints, fringes, feathers, and embroideries, this is a celebration of femininity—confident, even bold, yet far from overtly glamorous. It’s an empowered femininity, one that is free. There’s nothing restrictive about these clothes; they allow the body to move effortlessly. Instead, the garments are fluid, enhancing the silhouette with elegance as they sway and flow.
Accessories are layered but always with finesse. Belts are no longer about cinching the waist or hips—they resemble delicate jewelry, gracefully adorning the body and complementing the garments. Bags, inspired by hobo bags, are soft and spacious, offering versatility in how they’re worn: slung over the shoulder, carried by hand, or nonchalantly tucked under the arm.
As for beauty, the complexion is fresh, and makeup focuses solely on enhancing a natural, healthy glow. Hair is long, loose, and effortlessly undone—slightly tousled, natural, with no structured cuts or polished blowouts.
To delight and inspire you, I’ve selected my favorite looks from the shows to break down this new aesthetic. Having long been drawn to masculine codes in women’s fashion—broad shoulders, sharp lines, oversized cuts, ultra-minimalist designs, and muted tones—I must say I’m thoroughly enchanted by this return to a softer, more feminine silhouette.
And what about you? Does this new wave of fashion make you long for spring and summer as much as it does for me ;)? À la prochaine mes amies!

The first photo – joyful pastels – sheer separates inspired by the Renaissance. I must recreate this look…and yes, spring can’t come soon enough
Thank you so much! Pastel tones on soft whites are absolutely stunning! I’m so happy you loved it and that you’re planning to recreate the look. I can’t wait for spring to arrive either! I’ll be creating plenty of spring-inspired content—almost as if to bring it here sooner :)!
Bonjour Leonce
Thank you for these beautiful feminine styles. I wonder if you could advise me of the colours for Spring/Summer – especially when you are like me – a Senior Lady …….I turned 70 in November – although I don’t feel it and of course I am disabled as well . You might get an idea of what my hair colour etc is from my email pic……Don’t want to look silly ….Thank you and keep doing this fantastic piece on fashion…..
Thank you so much for your kind comment, Denise (as always)! I also have fair skin and blonde hair, and if I were to recommend some colors for this spring/summer, I’d suggest shades that I find flattering as well—soft pastels like pink, blue, lilac, green, and even yellow. These colors pair beautifully with denim, beige, cream, camel, or brown. I recently bought the Nattie cardigan from Sézane in a soft powder pink, and I find that these kinds of shades really brighten and soften my features. I hope this helps! Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions, Denise—it’s always a pleasure! <3
Absolutely love the Chanel feather pattern!!!
Me too! I thought it was absolutely stunning—I loved it so much that I couldn’t decide whether to include the photo of the dress or the shirt-and-pants ensemble with that pattern in the article :)! xo
