All the Christmas Decor I’m Loving This Year

I have to confess, I’m absolutely obsessed with everything related to Christmas—whether it’s the decorations, recipes, songs, cards, or anything else! One of my dreams is to spend part of December in Lapland; maybe next year, who knows ;)? I grew up in Haute-Savoie in the French Alps, so for me, Christmas is synonymous with cold and snow.

Every year in November, I set aside a small budget to buy new Christmas decorations and expand my collection. I’ve been doing this for a few years now, and I must say, I’m building quite a collection! Yet, there are still so many things I’d love to add: stockings and faux pine garlands to place around the fireplace, a wreath to hang on the front door, Christmas-themed dishes, tablecloths, napkins, glassware, carafes—the list goes on. This year, I’ve already picked up some lovely pieces (see below), and I thought, why not share my love for Christmas decor with you in this blog post? I hope you find some beautiful pieces for your home here :)!

This post is not sponsored, and all opinions are my own. I only feature products I truly love and personally select. If you purchase through my links, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Merci!

First things first: the Christmas tree! If you’re torn between a real or artificial tree, having tried both, I’d really recommend investing in an artificial one that you can keep for many seasons. Real trees shed their needles quickly—especially with indoor heating—and an artificial tree is far easier and faster to set up. It’s certainly an investment, but one I haven’t regretted making last year! I bought an artificial tree from the National Tree Company, similar to this pre-lit North Valley blue spruce at 6.5 feet. I love its slightly frosted, bluish tone, which adds a touch of wintry charm.

For holiday decor, I’m drawn to more “traditional” colors: deep red like holly berries, rich evergreen, polar white, night blue, classic gold, and a warm gingerbread-inspired copper or brown. To create a festive atmosphere, I like to add fresh fir balsam scents—I highly recommend Trudon’s limited-edition Fir candle for Christmas—or sweeter notes like candied chestnuts (Trudon’s Gabriel candle is a favorite I’ve mentioned several times on the blog).

This year, I fell in love with the Christmas collections from Zara Home and Mango Home. These decor stores are quite popular in France and across Europe, though I’m not sure if it’s as well-known in the U.S. If you’re spending the holidays in France and looking for affordable Christmas decor, I’d also recommend Sostrene Grene or Maisons du Monde. And if you happen to be in Amsterdam, make sure to visit Intratuin—I’ve never seen a store with such an incredible selection of Christmas decorations; it’s truly a must-see! I also adore Anthropologie’s holiday collection every year—a brand I discovered a few years ago while living in London. Here’s a list, in no particular order, of the items I’ve already ordered or added to my wishlist this season. Happy shopping!
