How to Style the Perfect Ruffled Blouse for Fall

Welcome to a new series on the blog: Looks du Jour! Every now and then, I’ll be sharing a “Look du Jour,” showcasing a chic outfit I’ve spotted either on the runway or in the streets of Paris, that you can easily recreate.

Today’s look is inspired by Chloé’s Pre-Fall and Fall/Winter 2024 collections, which I’ve already talked about in a previous post. This fall, I’m totally obsessed with ruffled blouses, and in this Look du Jour, I’ll show you how to wear one in an effortlessly chic way. I know this style of blouse can be a little tricky—pair it with something too bold or romantic, and the whole look can feel a bit too much.

Taking a cue from Chloé, I decided to style this gorgeous blouse in silk organza from the Parisian brand Rosaé Paris (mark your calendars! This blouse will be available exclusively this Sunday, September 29, at 9:00 a.m. Paris time) with a sleek leather jacket from Massimo Dutti. The jacket has that classic “lady jacket” cut we usually see in tweed but in leather, which perfectly balances out the romantic ruffles of the blouse, giving you that effortlessly chic vibe. If you’re into the chic detail of gold buttons on leather, I absolutely love the Beyza jacket from Gerard Darel—it’s a bit more of a splurge but totally worth it!

I’ve paired it with high-rise wide-leg jeans, like this one from AMI Paris (or you could try this one from Citizens of Humanity or the Le Donovan from Rosaé Paris). For shoes, you can go for black or burgundy loafers, brogues, or even ballet flats, like this white leather pair from Chloé. If you’re in the mood for a pop of color, I suggest these glossy red leather ballet flats (also launching this Sunday, September 29, at 9:00 a.m. Paris time), and pair them with some cozy white socks to stay warm this fall.

As for the bag, I went with this stunning-grained leather tote from the French brand Le Tanneur—it’s just so chic! To finish off the look with a romantic touch, add this cute black-and-white satin bow hair clip to your hair.

Et voilà! I hope this Look du Jour inspires you ;). Let me know in the comments if you’ll be trying this look or how you’d style it yourself—I’d love to hear your thoughts!

  • This is the exact sort of outfit I can imagine Camille from Emily in Paris wearing. Idea for a future series of posts – the Parisian critique of some outfits that each of the main characters from that show have worn? Camille tends to be a bit edgy for my personal taste – love her look but wouldn’t wear it myself, whereas Sylvie is 100% style goals!

    • Thank you so much for your comment Lindsey! That’s such a lovely idea for a blog post! I’d need to catch up first, though—I’ve only watched the first season, and that was quite a while ago :D. But I love the idea of critiquing their styles, especially since Camille and Sylvie have such distinct looks! xo
