Chanel’s Symphony of Light and Color

Chanel’s Symphony of Light and Color

I must admit, I hadn’t planned on writing this article. I knew Haute Couture Week was taking place in Paris, but I never expected to be left utterly speechless, completely awestruck—even a little moved—by such sheer beauty. After reviewing the runway and street-style photos from the week, one thing became clear: the true spectacle wasn’t on the streets—it was on the runways. And among them, one collection in particular left me dazzled, completely captivated: Chanel’s Spring-Summer 2025 Haute Couture.

I sincerely believe that Chanel is at the pinnacle of its artistry with this collection. Originality, innovation, uniqueness, emotion, elegance, beauty—this is what Haute Couture is all about! And fortunately for us, it costs nothing to admire it, soak it in, and even draw inspiration from it. Watching this collection, I feel as though we are witnessing a renaissance, a turning point in fashion—one that is more feminine, colorful, soft, and joyful. It echoes my recent article on Spring-Summer 2025 fashion trends and stands in striking contrast to the difficult geopolitical climate and the rather gloomy state of the global economy. And I must say—it feels like a breath of fresh air! Seeing luminous, radiant bursts of color is uplifting: deep midnight blues shimmering like the Milky Way, soft cottony whites with hints of pink or pristine purity, delicate lilacs, roses, and lavenders in full bloom, buttery pastel yellows, vibrant poppy reds, and even blacks softened by sheer layers and intricate lace.

Floral motifs, embroidered flowers, and delicate appliqués grace the garments. Collars and sleeves are adorned with feathers; billowing, ruffled sleeves and jewel-like embellishments catch the light; and majestic capes drape over evening gowns, giving them an utterly regal allure. Oversized black bows in silk or velvet replace the traditional tie, while tulle, organza, and sheer elegance bring an air of pure joy.

And for once, I must mention the music of the show—because I adored it! I’m passionate about classical music; it’s the only genre that makes me feel such a vast range of emotions. So, I was absolutely enchanted by River, an original composition created for the Chanel Haute Couture show by Gustave Rudman (a composer I hadn’t known before but was delighted to discover). If you’d like to explore or rediscover classical music, I’m sharing my personal Spotify playlist of favorite classical pieces. And, of course, I’d love to hear your recommendations—feel free to share your favorite pieces or composers in the comments or by writing to me directly. To fully immerse yourself in this unique experience, I’ve embedded the runway show video in this article. Take a moment to settle in and let yourself be swept away by this symphony of colors, textures, and emotions.

For your enjoyment, I’ve also curated a selection of the most breathtaking Chanel Couture looks. And, of course, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this collection—let me know in the comments. I hope it brings you as much excitement and emotion as it did for me :).

  • I love how the pastel hues are anchored by the classic red lip! The colors of confection are also grounded with the black touches- so Chanel. The first model’s look reminds me of the gorgeous Klimt portrait of Mäda Primavesi.

    • I completely agree with you! The red lips add just the right touch of color, making sure the pastel hues don’t look washed out but instead appear vibrant and luminous. Thank you for this beautiful artistic reference; I wasn’t familiar with Klimt’s portrait of Mäda Primavesi, but now, looking at the first model again, I can absolutely see the resemblance!

  • Such a gorgeous homage to Chanel’s classic tweed suit!! I love the gold tweed fabric, and the stage was great.

    • Thank you so much for your comment, Diane! I couldn’t agree more—the tweed suits were absolutely gorgeous. I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
