The stars we watch each night seem more beautiful in winter, when the air is dry and still, and the sky turns glass-clear above the sleeping city. Stars that we observe, and that, in some quiet way, observe us in return. Some have been there for thousands, millions, even billions of years, and will remain long after we’re gone, indifferent to our time. The oldest among them, the so-called Methuselah star, is said to be almost as old as the universe itself.
For this year’s Noël, I wanted to imagine A Christmas Under the Stars, when the sky is clear after snowfall, when the cold has hushed the city and Paris has fallen asleep. Only a few golden glows remain: from streetlights, candles, and bedside lamps. The night stretches long and silent.
Then suddenly, across the magnificent blue of the winter sky, a single falling star. And before your eyes, a carpet of constellations begins to shimmer, thousands of tiny lights glittering at once. A quiet reminder that wherever you are in the world, you are never truly alone. You only have to look up. That gift is reserved for those who still know how to observe.

And so begins this Christmas under the stars, a moment to slow down, to look closely, to give with intention. I imagined each of these gift guides as constellations: gatherings of neighboring stars (or gifts) across the celestial sphere, each with its own name and story.
Every gift, or perhaps every star, has been chosen in the same spirit: quiet, thoughtful, and luminous in its own way. Not the abundance of things, but the beauty of the few, ten ideas for each constellation, imagined for dreamers, aesthetes, and those who still believe in simple wonders. May you find among them something that shines gently, perhaps for someone you love, or simply for yourself, like a small light in the long winter night.
