French Skincare Routine For Flawless Skin

Ready to commit to the French skincare routine? French women emphasize skincare over makeup, and it’s not a myth. I’ve been taught to care for my skin very young and to focus more on maintaining a clean and healthy skin rather than covering it up with makeup. French women seek out natural, sometimes organic but always high-quality beauty products and often stick to a simple 3-step routine: cleanse, tone, moisturize. Today, I want to share with you a step-by-step guide to a French skincare routine for a flawless and healthy skin.

Morning

Every morning, I use a floral toner to refresh my skin. I like the Organic Ancient Rose Floral Water from Sanoflore or the Caudalie Grape Water. Sometimes, I use the Avene Thermal Spring Water (for softness and hydration) or the well-known Sensibio H2O micelle solution (gently cleanses face and eyes, formulated for sensitive normal to dry skins).

Then, I use the Clarins Double Serum, a best seller in France! This anti-aging treatment is enriched with more than 21 active plant extracts (including turmeric) which hydrates, moisturizes, regenerates and protects the skin. My skin is more radiant, firmer and all fine lines are smoothed.

Finally, I apply my daily anti-aging cream and my eye-cream. I’m currently using two products also from Clarins (my favorite French cosmetic brand): the Multi-Active Day Cream and the Multi-Active Eye. Sometimes, when my skin is dry, I swap my daily moisturizer for face oil like the Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil specially formulated for oily skin and made from 100% pure plant extracts.

Night

I always clean my skin with a micellar water as their formula effectively micro-emulsify impurities while maintaining the skin’s balance (soap-free, physiological pH). I mainly use micellar water from French pharmacy brands like the Bioderma Sensibio H2O micelle solution or the Effaclar Purifying Micellar Water from La Roche-Posay. Micellar waters soothe and prevent the feeling of irritation often caused by cleansing.

Twice a week, I use masks to clear the pores of impurities and toxins and to revitalize and invigorate the complexion. I use the Caudalie Glycolic Peel Mask (gently exfoliates and actives cell renewal) or the Instant Detox Mask (eliminates toxins and impurities, tightens pores and smoothes out features). I like also to use the Dr. Hauschka Revitalising Mask, a soothing care which diminished the appearance of redness and blemishes, refined pores and skin appears even and toned.

After a mask, I apply one of my favorites vegetal face oil from Arome Azone Paris, which works like a night serum and a night cream. I like the Organic Argan Oil (nourishing, restructuring and anti-aging properties), the Wheat Germs Oil (source of powerful anti-oxidants, anti-aging properties), the Organic Olive Oil (contains vitamin E and polyphenols which help fight against signs of aging) or the Tomato Oil (enriched in powerful antioxidants including lycopene, carotenoids, phytosterols and tocopherols, which give to this oil exceptional anti-aging properties).
